Arthur van Hoff back with Zing

Arthur van Hoff is out of stealth mode and launched Zing. Here is what Gizmodo says:

Zing is partnering with Yahoo! and Sirius for their new player. The initial prototype includes 8GB of storage space that can be filled wtih music via a Wi-Fi, Bluetooth or direct connection. Zing is trying to eliminate the need for a computer with portable media players by allowing for album downloads to come directly to the player via the Wi-Fi connection. Also the Zing player will have the ability to stream Sirius satellite music from the Wi-Fi connection—what?

Back from High Tech Connections

This week I tagged along on yet another trade mission, this time with the Dutch secretary of foreign trade to Boston for High Tech Connections.

On Sunday night we were invited to a buffet/banquet in the Fogg Art Museum, part of Harvard, in Cambridge. After dinner we walked around, the first time I have ever been in an empty museum. It was unbelievable.

Around the world in a week

My body is back home in Amsterdam from a week full of heaven and hell. My mind is still caught somewhere in between.

Sensation White in Germany

One of the main reasons I work with ID&T is the international potential of dance music. I witnessed that potential Saturday night first hand in Gelsenkirchen, in the Arena Auf Schalke at Sensation White Germany. The German dance fans were very responsive to the music and the show and the overall atmosphere was extremely pleasant and positive. Sensation White in Belgium was met with a similar enthusiastic response. Leaving at 11.30 pm and returning 7.30 am the next morning was all worth it.

Entering the Arena for Sensation Black tonight, the scene resembled the set of a science fiction movie.

Inspiration from London

It's the same feeling I had the day of the Madrid bombings. These are absolutely senseless acts of violence. It's so sad that when we were in London a few months ago, the security measures were a sort of premonition. And still there's nothing we can do to protect ourselves. The best way to show we will not surrender to terror, is by continuing to live our regular lives in the free world. London has given that example before.

Our high school friend Morad celebrated the first year of his new agency Inn with an exhibition of his pictures and those of his partner Marcel. Morad photographed Johnny Depp for GQ, I blogged about it earlier this year.

The European constitution explained by a blogger

Dutch blogger Stephan Okhuijsen reviewed the entire European constitution paragraph by paragraph, which was a more valuable service than any site offered by the EU or the Dutch government. Looks like the French read his analysis.
